Vieux Carre’ or “old square” is the area most of us know as the New Orleans French Quarter. It became known as the French Quarter when the Americans moved into the Uptown area and the French speaking people remained in the Vieux Carre’. As we all know, this area was dramatically influenced by several ethnic groups; the French, Spanish, Germans, Italians, Africans, and those from the Caribbean Islands. New Orleans’ “little italy” was within the Vieux Carre. Our gourmet food store, restaurant, and wine cellar reflects the diversity of foods within the city. We feature the foods of Louisiana!
